The Silverbird Cinema, Alausa Ikeja recently came alive with
glitz and glamour as movie stars as Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Okoro, Oge Okoye,
Lilian Amah and other showbiz personalities stormed the press screening of much
awaited movie, ‘Contract.’
‘Contract’ is an unsuspecting romantic comedy with unusual
twists that expose the flaws in being in control of one’s life.
The comedy flick from the stable of Sparrow Productions and
DesAmour, stars South African actor Homla Dandala (Lead actor in TV series
Jacob’s cross) and Nigeria's
Benjamin Joseph and Yvonne Okoro.
Contract is produced by award winning actress Yvonne Okoro,
the star actress with mixed linage of Nigeria
and Ghana.
Speaking on the movie, Yvonne Okoro said ‘This is one of the
best movies I have produced and so much went into its production that will give
the audience the value for their money when they go to watch the movie at the
cinemas, go and watch Contract and you will never be disappointed’. She added
further ‘It was my desire to compensate my long standing fans for their love
and support that underlined the choice of cast for the movie’.
“The movie tells the story of a 40-year-old Successful
Businessman Peter Popolampo, ((Homla Dandala) the ultimate alpha male, rich,
and a staunch bachelor. Despite his mother’s persistent attempt to find him a
woman, Peter sticks to his rule of non-committal casual dates, freedom and
controlling his life until a yearning to have a child arises. In his quest to
find the woman who will take his money, have his child and disappear, Peter
begins a roller coaster, contracted relationship with Abena Boateng, a crude
but clever local girl who is anything but impressed with Peter’s affluence.
With a clear definitive contract outlining the dos and don’ts of bearing Peter
Popolampo’s child, these two opposites must exercise every ounce of will power
not to kill each other until the child is born”.
The producer of the movie, Yvonne Okoro, is an award winning
Ghanaian actress. She won the Ghana Movie Award's Best Actress in 2010 and was
nominated for African Movie Academy Awards Best Actress twice in a row in 2011
and 2012 for her movies Pool Party and Single Six. She was honoured with a
Distinguished Achievement Award in 2012 at Nigeria Excellence Awards.
