The Last Bus Stop - Part III [a short story by Tha Naija POET]

PART III

Advisory Content:
This poem contains some strong language.

He suddenly moved towards the old man
Who wanted to turn around to run away
But was prevented from doing so by the wall of humans behind him

Lanre snatched the black bag from the old man and turned it upside down
And out came a necklace made with cowries and another made with black beads
Other items that Lanre could make out were little plastic containers that contained liquid content, broom sticks, a strange looking mirror
And several others that Lanre could not make out

Lanre felt himself gradually losing his sanity
And with the little strength and reason left in him, he said to the man:
“For the very last time, what did you do to my wife?”

The Last Bus Stop - Part II [a short story by Tha Naija POET]

Advisory Content:

This poem contains some strong language.

Just as he was about to speak, her eyelids slammed shut
And her head began to move from left to right like a child hurriedly trying to say no without using words
The only difference was that her head was moving a lot faster

“Baby, are you okay?”
Lanre asked the question
But he already knew the answer

Lanre was trying very hard not to panic
He didn’t understand any bit of what he was seeing
And then just as suddenly as she had began shaking her head
She suddenly stopped
Her head, shoulders and arms were now covered in beads of sweat

Advisory Content:
This poem contains some strong language.

There are two kinds of Evil
The ones that can be seen
And those that cannot be seen

This was something Lanre was aware of
Despite not wanting to think about it as often as he thought about food
But the news broadcast he was watching
Had lured his thoughts
Into the different shades of darkness
The very thing he was consciously trying to avoid

“The suspect turned himself in at the Area F Police Station
…after stabbing his wife a total of 34 times…

The S*x Starved Teenager [A Short Story by ThaNaijaPOET]

The tale I am about to share
Took place well over a decade ago
But I still cannot resist the urge
To share it
Especially with those
Who constantly spur me to write diaries/memoirs like this

Today…
I am going to use real names and factual places.

I can’t recall the precise year
But there are three characters in this story
And the location was Ikeja
A district in Lagos State – in Nigeria

How to Catch an Armed Robber

He knelt on the ground; both knees on the hard heartless earth; both hands clasped together like a faithful servant of the Lord and he begged. Yes! He begged and this was all he asked:

“...I will assist the police in catching armed robbers that have made the lives of my brothers and sisters out there miserable. They do not deserve to be alive. They have hurt too many and i know i have what it takes to get them arrested and put them behind bars for a very long time.”
